Bulgarian Love is Folly screening ‘Cypress Under Water’

The 27th edition of the International Film Festival Love is Folly in Bulgaria has scheduled to screen ‘Cypress Under Water’ from Iran.

The 105-minute movie tells the story of a group of Iranian minorities who were among the country's unknown martyrs.

Jahanbakhsh Keramat is hiding a secret, which if revealed will be the cause of many sleepless nights for certain people.

In order to prove his innocence and restore the peace, Jahanbakhsh embarks on a long journey; one that will change their destinies.

Written by Mohammad-Ali Bashe-Ahangar, the film features actors such as Babak Hamidiyan, Massoud Rayegan, Reza Behboudi, Mina Sadati, Houman Barqnavard, Setareh Eskandari, Shahram Haqiqatdoust, Homayoun Ershadi, and Farrokh Nemati

It has gone on screen in Lebanon, Iran, and at the 36th Fajr Film Festival.

Launched in 1993, the International Film Festival Love is Folly is a competitive event that features selected films produced during the last two years dealing with the subject of love.

For years Love is Folly was the only international film festival, taking place in Bulgaria and until recently - the only one with feature film contest.

Kicked off on August 23 in Varna, Bulgaria, the event's 27th edition is slated to wrap up on September 1, 2019.
